Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
So now waiting on the O2 housing really sucks since I picked up my HX35 this morning with a fresh rebuild and it looks good in the turbine housing. I am going crazy driving my car around barely pushing on the gas. I want to boost again already.
I am very excited to get my first taste of this Holset bandwagon.

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
I finally finished my install and had Beau come by and help tune the car. All I can say is . I am hitting full boost 25psi at about 3200 rpm's. Unfortunately, I the pump can't push enough e85 with the 1450's. Need to do an inline walbro so I can actually start tuning the car. Was leaning out at 5200 and had to pull off. Log showed 52lbs/min though so I am happy about that. Did you get the 7 or 8 blade?? O this was at 25lbs of boost too. Can't go any lower as it has a dual spring in the wastegate. You are going to love it. The spool and impact of the turbo is more like a 16g compared to the pte that we had. Not sure what injectors you are running we but might need another fuel pump with your set up unless you have a AFPR.

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
For fuel I have 1150's, with -6 from the tank to the rail, a fuel lab FPR, and the pump is a 255 re-wired. I hope it is enough because I really don't want to deal with dual pumps.

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
You should be able to lower your Fuel pressure to help compensate. So you should be good. I want to add a inline pump and have it activated only under a certain load so I don't lean out up top. Good luck with the install when you get it. Should be insta-spool for you.

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
2 words: Supra pump. They are flowing around 280LPH but draw a lot of power so you need to have a good electrical system to keep proper voltage.
Or do a boost-a-pump setup.

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
If I get a inline 255 and have it activate only under boost then I will save on the power consumption of having dual pumps or if the supra pump pulls that much amperage. Plus with two 255's i should be good up to 600 hp or more.

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
your definitely going to max this turbo out ...the 8 blade hx35 is only rated to flow 52 lbs a min...with your stroker you will problaby max it out at 30psi or less ....good luck though wes....you should defiantly have better luck with the holset...Im running the hx40 pro 6 blade right now and boy is it the shit at 30psi im flowing 53 lbs a min on e85 tuned by beau brown

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
I don't think he will have boost that high on his compression I could be wrong though

Re: Wes's Car finally acting like a DSM.
My compression is only 8.8:1. As with every setup I've run I will run as much boost as I can while the engine is still happy and there is enough fuel there to keep it safe. I think the HX35 will be a good turbo for goals as the 5031 at 44 lbs/min made more than enough power but the spool was a bit slow for autocross. I'm looking forward to a faster spool and maybe a bit more power.
