 RIP motor #3
So on my way to get some lunch today i was driving down the street, pull up to a light and smell some burnt oil. Look in the rear view and see a cloud of smoke coming out the exhaust. Pull away from the light and see the smoke cloud grow so i pull into a parking lot and check it out. Pop the hood to see the catchcan oozing oil out of both openings and see oil in the muffler. Pull the intake pipe and check the turbo but it looks normal so i decide its something in the bottom end. Got her home and broke a few things out of anger. My theory is that a ringland cracked and or the rings are gone. Guess its time to pull the motor out of the fwd early, at least i still have the awd to drive around in. 6bolt bottom end with 200k+miles ran hard for over a year, and took a good beating. Due to personal finance ill probably look for another stock bottom end to run again for a while even though i would love to build a bottom end.

 Re: RIP motor #3
do a comp test. .That will tell all. You can have a o-ring behind the compressor backplate and push boost into the crank case.

 Re: RIP motor #3
That was a possibility I considered as well but i will be doing a comp test this weekend to know for sure what the dmg is. I'm shooting for something small but I have a bad feeling.

 Re: RIP motor #3
Does anyone have a compression tester and/or a leak down tester that i could borrow? I still haven't been able to confirm what failed since i don't have either of these.

 Re: RIP motor #3
Depending on his response, I can bring my compression tester to the meet if need be.
