So somehow my pulley that bolts to the crank sprocket broke. Bolts sheared right off. So I replaced all the belts out everything back together, started it and there was this loud winding sound almost like a supercharger. Idled ok drive okay foe the first few miles then at random it startedt to bog and the rpm would jump from 4k to 2k and back up as the car would jolt . Then it just died. My buddy seems to think its the crank trigger. But don't know where the winding sound came from. So I don't know what to look for or where to start, any help would be great! |

My friends saturn was making the same noise it turned out to be a bad belt. Maybe when your crank sprocket broke it bent the trigger plate and its messing with your timing. When I had my motor rebuild while I was doing the timing belt I notice the plate wasn't that straight but I threw it on anyway. I was having starting issues and my car was acting funny. |

In my "Before posting any tech threads..." Thread stickied on every tech forum. If your car doesn't start Provide the following: *Are you getting spark? *Do you smell fuel in the cylinders? *Are you getting fuel pressure? *When did it start happening (After upgrade? Random, worked fine yesterday) Also, is you car getting compression, do a comp test. |
