I hate making this thread but I figured I would start this one instead of spamming my 5 speed thread.

Does anybody know any tips on removing the pilot bushing on the crank thats used on automatics I seriously cannot get this SOB out from the crank. I tried everything grease wet toilet paper the pilot bushing removal tool???? Nothing is getting it out in case you didnt know what it was its a bushing right in the middle of the crank where the flywheel goes :( Ill post a pic of it later or can anybody get it out for me I got cash!!!

just use some locking pliers, thats how i got mine out, yes its a bitch, but it can be done.

Spray with lots of PB blaster let it sit and grab it with big vice grips. I have heard of people using an air chisle or beating it with a hammer but those methods probably arent too good for the crank & bearings.

i just pulled the one on my 6 bolt with needle nose pliers.
i guess i just got lucky and mine wasn't a pain in the ass :-?

best way i have seen it done is with a wood dowel that is just slightly bigger than the opening and you hammer the dowel in so it is a pressed fit then wiggle it right out

Did you try the using the puller with like a 5 or 10 pound slide hammer. Thats what i used.

Yeah i used the tool it came with a slid hammer but the tool has no where to grip from the tips of the tool are kinda round. I cant do this nothing is working i used a lot of pb blaster its been sitting since 1. Ill probably end up paying to get it out ill be pulling the motor and taking it somewhere to get it removed this bushing is really on there.

Sam when can you do it ill even pick you up and drop you off or give you gas money and pay you to get it out. Its the only thing keeping me from continuing the swap.

Alright well Sam came by yesterday night to try and get the pilot bushing out but nothing we tried the toilet paper method didn't work and the chisel and hammer didn't either. Sam did find out that it has red loc tite round it from what he can tell it looks like loc tite. Ill probably have to pull motor and get it out like that.
