 Broke Tranny again..... Tuesday, coasting in 4th comming to a the stoplight at Lakeland and Shoemaker here by RRE, the shift lever pops out of 4th. I put it back in and all I hear is a whirr. In my mind "Fucken stripped 4th", shift into 2nd, and just drive it the rest of the way to RRE, total of like 30 feet. Left the car here.
Come yesterday, I drain the trans, and to my surprise, fluid was CLEAN! like really clean. Clean enough that I can bottle it and sell it as new. I was like WTF? Drop the trans, take it apart and confirmed 4th gear sheared some teeth off.
Well all nighter and taking two tranny and making one good one, (thanks Gus) I have the car back on the road again. Will post pics after my phone gets recharged. But found the teeth, the rest of the trans actually didnt get damaged. Just shitty thing is that the thing is going to need a new Intermediate shaft. But Im going to start a fresh build on another tranny, the one in the car now is a temp.
