Convert Internal WGA to Ext. EVO111???
Just trying to figure out what I have to do to convert my evo111 that is internally WGA to External or if I should even do it for that matter and what the difference is between the two, I have had the 16g for a while had no problems at all, before I installed it I had the flapper hole ported to 1" but that's the only mod that I have done to it. My brother gave me a Brand new exhaust mani with a flange for Ext. WGA and i was thinking of changing it or just blocking it off... Don't really know the difference between the two and the benifits either way...
Thanks in advance!

To run an external off the manifold you would need to have the hole for the flapper in the turbine housing welded shut. That isn't hard for anyone with a welder to do and I don't think a welding shop would charge more than $50 to do it.
As for benefits of going external, if you are having problems with boost creep it would help you to hold a lower boost level and on the flip side to that the internal gate also has a problem holding boost above 22-24psi as the flapper just blows open the the external will help you in running higher boost than that even though that would be pushing the 16G way past its efficiency range.

Are you having trouble keeping your boost below or above your desired boost level? If not then you don't need an external.
