 16g turbo I was wondering how can i tel if i have a real 16g??? The 16g that came with the car says the following
turbo charger
type:dsm-evo III
partno:TDO5
Serialno:mz0701129
i think its a ebay 16g cuz looks kinda of weird to me??

If you already have it though I say run it. Some people have luck with them and they just keep working. Some just die early deaths.
Rock it till it dies and then get a bigger turbo.

Re: 16g turbo it is a ebay 16g cause real one like my evo 3 16g say serial numbers. If it says anything like evo or evo 111 like yours its fake. Except if it says evo III GT then its good

These are the numbers for real 16g it should be stamped on the compressor housing but post a pic. Most likely yours is a ebay 16g.

Re: 16g turbo I believe he bought a 5spd. gsx and the pervious owner said that infact that it was an ebay turbo and that he thinks "it is blown". bring the turbo to the meet tonight. so we can figure this out. i say cheapest better route would be getting a 14b turbo. I wouldnt rebuilt an ebay turbo or even buy a turbo at all from ebay.

Re: 16g turbo The 16g gt is also a knockoff but one of the ones that actually last. FYI the ebay 16g's can't be rebuilt with a standard 16g rebuild kit if i recall correctly.

Re: 16g turbo again...a turbocharger that actually labled "turbo charger" is more likely than not a POS. Who the f*ck makes a turbos and have to label them. Just in case Jacky Chan in the shipping department gets confused because that company makes toasters too. We dont want customer ordering toasters to get a turbo. That wont toast bread right.

Re: 16g turbo Dude don't rebuild it its not worth it your gonna spend to much rebuilding it and you won't get anything back if you rebuild it just buy a 14b there cheap and you will feel a big difference.
