Post subject:  Questions about buying a gst/gsx
I currently own a 4g64 and soon im going to sell it and look for a gst/gsx depends what i can find, i want to know what kind of tests i should do before purchasing the car or if anyone is a mechanic and can come with me to look at the condition of the car. Which tools would i need? etc? Thanks :)

when the car is cold(hasnt been turnd on) remove intake from turbo if it has it (which it should) check if theres a bit of shaft play more than usual then i would turn on the car warm it up 5min or so give a couple revs then check again for shaft play if there is then more than likely the seals are gone and needs to be rebuilt (if seals are busted more than likely the car will be smoken...

Also check for rust Anywhere in the car, especially strut towers. Check the fluid levels and listen for any weird noises. Drive with Windows down and listen for any noises when driving or during braking.
